We Believe...
We believe that individuals may have a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, which is initiated by a salvation experience. An individual becomes a follower of Jesus by accepting by faith that He died for their sins and by confessing their sins to Him. The eternal benefits of this relationship provide life eternal with God and deliverance from the eternal punishment of sin. This relationship also enables us to look with anticipation for the second coming of Jesus Christ to establish His Kingdom on earth. As a testimony of this relationship, new believers should follow the example of the Jesus in water baptism. This testimony of our new commitment to Him does not provide salvation, but rather an outward expression of our new life in Jesus.
We believe that followers of Jesus are challenged to live separated (sanctified) and different (holy) from their previous lifestyle by the empowerment of God's presence in our lives. Obedience to this call will be evidenced through love, joy, peace, a gentle spirit, patience, self-discipline, kindness, faith, and restitution where possible. We believe that the followers of Jesus will so want to live our lives so as to abstain from personal practices that may control our lives such as the use of habit forming drugs (non-medicinal), including tobacco products and alcohol. We understand that this call to separation and holiness will encourage the believer to live honestly, both in word and deed. We also understand that in our humanity, we do not possess the ability to live separated and different lives; however, through the empowerment of God's presence in our lives, we can become successful followers of Jesus.
We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and that this indwelling presence will empower us to fulfill the Great Commission. We also understand that the Holy Spirit empowers our life with a powerful prayer & worship language as well as various other gifts and abilities. Finally, the Holy Spirit empowers us to use our gifts and abilities to further the ministry of the family of God to one another as well as to the community.
We believe that individual believers grow through the corporate fellowship of Christians. It is our understanding that individuals grow as they participate in church ordinances and through the stewardship of their finances in tithing and giving through church ministries. We understand that the fellowship of believers is to be a mutual, open commitment to one another and will not involve secret oaths or covenants.
We believe in the sanctity of marriage as a life-long institution that God has ordained since the creation. We understand that this institution represents the eternal bond that Christ has committed to the Church.
Our Covenant Relationship
We have joined ourselves together in Christ as a fellowship of believers by covenanting to accept the Bible as the Word of God, promising to believe and practice its teachings rightly divided with the New Testament as our rule of faith and practice, government and discipline, and agreeing to walk in the light to the best of our knowledge and ability.
